DIPPY ON TOUR AT NORWICH CATHEDRAL
Creating excitement for Norwich's biggest visitor with an interactive digital experience.
Building Excitement for Dippy on Tour
When Norwich Cathedral hosted the Natural History Museum’s Dippy on Tour exhibition, they needed a website that would help build excitement around the event, encourage volunteer sign-ups, and give visitors a reason to engage before they arrived. Using the Natural History Museum’s existing branding, I designed a website that captured the sense of discovery and adventure that made the exhibition so special.
One of the key features of the site was an interactive game that challenged users to piece together dinosaur bones, inspired by the process of assembling Dippy himself. The game added a fun, educational element to the website and helped create a memorable experience that reflected the exhibition’s focus on learning and exploration.
Alongside promoting the event, the website played an important role in recruiting volunteers. Clear user journeys and prominent calls to action made it easy for people to find out more about volunteering and register their interest. The site was designed to be engaging for families, schools, and potential volunteers alike, while ensuring information was easy to find across all devices.
The final website helped raise awareness of the exhibition, encouraged community involvement, and brought the excitement of Dippy on Tour online before visitors even stepped through the cathedral doors.
This project was completed while working at Flocc.
